Benjamin Folke Thomas
WE ARE SORRY BUT THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN CANCELLED.
Swedish-born Benjamin Folke Thomas has been exciting London audiences since his arrival seven years ago. Following his success at several major festivals and attracting the ears of Whispering Bob Harris, Ben has been touring around the UK both solo and with his band taking him to new audiences. He makes a welcome return to Chapel Arts.
A brilliant finger-picker, who cites 'sad guys with guitars' as his inspiration, he writes songs with depths of meaning - sometimes dark, often personal - possessing a lyrical and stylistic maturity beyond his years. Whether solo or backed by his three piece band of equally talented Swedish musicians, he delivers a show of pure quality and passion.
“Ben can really hold an audience. Catch his show if you can - great songs, great vocals, great playing and great charismaâ€.
Bob Harris
“Lovely to see a real artist at work, the band was superb, every note had integrityâ€
Graham Radley – World Unlimited
“The only genre BFT belongs in is the "Incredible Live" genre!â€
Jon Earl – Songs From The Shed
“Ben was the surprise sensation at our Cropredy festival this year. He's a great guitarist and singer and the 15,000 people he played to loved his musicâ€.
Dave Pegg – Fairport Convention
â€Thomas is a wordsmith, pure and simple, a conjurer of tales … one of the finest young talents out thereâ€.
Folk Radio UK
â€A supremely confident and brazen display of talent… “
